2012 Mississippi Literary Competition
St. Andrew’s writers accounted for four of the ten prizes awarded in this year’s Mississippi Literary Competition.  Submissions from around the state in essay, short story, poetry and drama were judged by the Millsaps faculty, resulting in a Third Place award for the short story “Sole,” by John Taylor Kitchings;  a Second Place award for the short story “Mal’s Used Cars,” by Lee Schmidt; a  First Place in Poetry for “Love Poem,” by Emma Liston;  and a  First Place in Drama for Welcoming Party by Meredith Blackwell.  Congratulations to these outstanding writers!
