Saints Summer Experience

Academic Camps

St. Andrew’s offers a wide range of Academic camps to help keep your kid’s mind sharp over the summer months. Our Gear Up camps are open to all students who want to get a jump start on the new school year. They’re especially beneficial for new students, and those who have been referred by their teachers. 

St. Andrew's students have early/priority registration for all academic and therapy camps. Dyslexia and Math Therapy Camps are by referral only. Please reach out to Ashley Runnels for more information: runnelsas@gosaints.org

Registration for all Summer Academic offerings (except Dyslexia and Math Therapy camps) will open to the public on Monday, April 7, 2025.

  • Summer Dyslexia Therapy: Multiple Sessions - June and July

    Summer Dyslexia Therapy
    For rising first through sixth grades

    We are very happy to offer Summer Dyslexia Therapy for students who are already enrolled in therapy at St. Andrew’s or have been recently diagnosed with dyslexia and are eligible to begin therapy this summer. Students can sign up for three to six weeks of therapy (three sessions per week). Sessions are 55 minutes long. Therapists will arrange times with parents based on beneficial groupings for students. Six weeks of summer therapy is encouraged in order to provide adequate repetition and review opportunities. A minimum of a three week commitment is required in order to enroll.     Complete their weeks! You can add a week of day camp for your rising 1st – 6th grade camper for an additional charge per week. Drop them in morning carpool and we'll get them to and from their therapy session. The rest of their day they'll be with their friends in Discovery or Adventure Camp on the South Campus or in Explorer Camp on the North Campus! After Care is available until 5:45pm for an additional charge.
  • Summer Multisensory Math Therapy: Multiple Sessions - June and July

    Summer Multisensory Math Therapy
    For rising first through fifth grades

    We are very happy to offer Summer Multisensory Math Therapy for students who need intensive instruction of basic math skills on which to build. Multisensory math therapy applies strategies from evidence-based reading instruction to conceptually-based mathematics instruction. It is Orton-Gillingham based. Students can sign up for three to six weeks of Multisensory Math, with three sessions per week. Sessions are 55 minutes long. The therapist will arrange times with parents based on beneficial groupings for students. Six weeks of summer therapy is encouraged in order to provide adequate repetition and review opportunities.     Give your rising first grader a head start on math skills and concepts. Students will have fun with lots of hands–on activities and games while sprucing up their skills in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. Taught by veteran teachers Judy Menist and Pat Sudduth, this camp is sure to put your student on the right track for first grade math!

    First Grade Gear Up for Language Arts:
    This fun and helpful camp is a great way to get your rising first grader ready for first grade reading. Students will get a jump on skills that will be covered during the first months of first grade. Taught by veteran teachers Judy Menist and Pat Sudduth, this camp session is sure to build skills and confidence in your child.

    Campers should wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and bring a snack for each camp and a labeled water bottle. All classroom materials will be provided.

    Get your rising 2nd grader ready for math with a review/preview in math. Using manipulatives and various activities, we will work to solve problems and build understanding of early 2nd grade math concepts.

    Second Grade Gear Up for Language Arts:
    Get your rising 2nd grader ready for reading with a review/preview week in reading and language. Children’s literature will be our focus as we cover skills in a fun learning environment.

    Campers should wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and bring a snack for each camp and a labeled water bottle. All classroom materials will be provided. 


  • Third Grade Gear Up Camps for Math and Language Arts: July 28 – Aug 1, 2025

  • Fourth Grade Gear Up Camps for Math and Language Arts: July 28 – Aug 1, 2025

    Fourth Grade Gear Up for Math:
    Rising fourth graders will use hands-on materials and activities to refresh skills, develop conceptual understanding, and gain confidence for success in fourth grade math. Problem solving will be a prime focus, but also included will be mental math strategies, model drawing, and number sense.

    Fourth Grade Gear Up for Language Arts:
    Rising fourth graders will use hands-on materials and activities to refresh skills, develop conceptual understanding, and gain confidence for success in fourth grade Language Arts. We will review summer reading options and use the writing process to reflect on what we’ve read.

    Campers should wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and bring a snack for each camp and a labeled water bottle. All classroom materials will be provided.
  • Fifth Grade Gear Up Camps for Math and Language Arts: July 28 – Aug 1, 2025 (NORTH CAMPUS)

    We offer two individual Gear Up Camps especially for rising fifth grade students each summer:

    Fifth Grade Gear Up for Math
    Rising fifth graders will review key concepts of fractions, decimals, data and geometry. Expect hands–on activities, math games, collaborative problem solving and a chance to get acquainted with the Middle School. Bring a water bottle and snack. Notebooks and pencils will be provided!

    Fifth Grade Gear Up for Language Arts
    Students will review parts of speech, elements of literature, and writing concepts. Rising fifth graders will practice writing expository and narrative pieces with strong topic sentences and descriptive details. This course will give rising fifth graders confidence as they leap into Middle School.

    Campers should wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and bring a snack for each camp and a labeled water bottle. All classroom materials will be provided. 

  • Sixth Grade Gear Up Camps for Math and Language Arts: July 28 – Aug 1, 2025 (NORTH CAMPUS)

    6th Grade Gear Up--Summer 2025

    Sixth Grade Gear Up for Language Arts
    During the week, rising sixth graders will review essential grammar and writing skills. Sixth graders will practice writing expository pieces, a creative piece, and a variety of poems. The parts of speech, capitalization and punctuation, sentence fragments, run–on sentences, contractions, possessives, subject/verb agreement and complements will also be covered.

    Sixth Grade Gear Up for Math
    Rising sixth graders will review key concepts of fractions, decimals, percent, geometry and algebraic expressions through hands-on activities, math games and collaborative problem solving. Bring a water bottle and snack. Notebooks and pencils will be provided!

    Campers should wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and bring a snack for each camp and a labeled water bottle. All classroom materials will be provided. 


  • Get a Grip on Grammar: July 28 - Aug 1, 2025 (NORTH CAMPUS)

    Dates: Monday, July 28 through Friday August 1, 2025
    Times: 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
    Where: North Campus
    Eligible Grades: rising 6th – 8th
    Teacher: Susan Pace

    Basic English grammar including parts of speech, active and passive verbs, phrases, conjugations, and indirect and direct objects will be covered. Pencil and paper not needed.

  • Gear Up for Pre-algebra: July 28 – Aug 1, 2025 (NORTH CAMPUS)

    Campers should wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and bring a snack for each camp and a labeled water bottle. All classroom materials will be provided. 

  • Gear Up for Algebra I: July 28 – Aug 1, 2025 (NORTH CAMPUS)

  • Successful Saints: Learning Strategies and Writing Skills for Middle School: July 28 - Aug 1, 2025 (NORTH CAMPUS)

    Successful Saints: Learning Strategies and Writing Skills - A dynamic class designed to empower middle school students with essential learning strategies and writing proficiency. In this gear-up, students embark on an exciting journey to enhance their academic prowess and articulate their thoughts effectively through writing. Students will work on proven learning strategies with engaging writing exercises to foster critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication. Through a blend of interactive lectures, group discussions, and hands-on activities, students will explore various writing genres, such as narratives, essays, and persuasive pieces, while developing a deeper understanding of writing mechanics, organization, and style.

    Need a little help dusting off the cobwebs from your writing? Come jump start your writing skills with this refresher workshop, offered in three sessions, on everything from MLA format and formal standard English rules to organizing a paragraph and a five paragraph essay. Let’s sweep those writing dust bunnies away and have our English teachers yelling “Hooray!” 
    This class is required for all new St. Andrew’s Students.
