We offer two individual Gear Up Camps especially for rising sixth grade students each summer:
Sixth Grade Gear Up for Language Arts
During the week, rising sixth graders will review essential grammar and writing skills. Sixth graders will practice writing expository pieces, a creative piece, and a variety of poems. The parts of speech, capitalization and punctuation, sentence fragments, run–on sentences, contractions, possessives, subject/verb agreement and complements will also be covered.
Sixth Grade Gear Up for Math
Rising sixth graders will review key concepts of fractions, decimals, percent, geometry and algebraic expressions through hands-on activities, math games and collaborative problem solving. Bring a water bottle and snack. Notebooks and pencils will be provided!
Campers should wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and bring a snack for each camp and a labeled water bottle. All classroom materials will be provided.
