  • 3D Printing Club: 1st – 4th grades, 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Wednesdays or Thursdays

    Welcome to our 3D printing class for 1st - 4th graders! This is an introductory course for the Saints 3D workshop offered by South Campus IT Specialist Charlie Brooks. Your child will use a blend of art, science and creativity to make their designs come to life to create their own 3D designs in TinkerCAD and/or find designs on Printables. They'll start with easy designs and progress to more complex ones. Your child will proudly take home all of their 3D printed creations and show their family and friends what they've learned. They'll have something tangible that represents their creativity and hard work!

    Please keep in mind the following information: You will need to purchase a Bambulab 3D printer for this class, separate from the class fee. The website is https://bambulab.com/en and the printer should be a multi-color unit. The printers range from $349 to $1200, depending on your chosen model. You will also have to buy filament for the printer and the spools usually cost around $15 per roll. If you prefer, you can purchase the printer and filament through me, but we will need to set this up after you register for the class. During the course, we will learn how to use and perform basic maintenance on the printers, as well as learn to use various CAD programs to create 3D models. The printers will stay in the library till the class is finished in December.

    Instructor's Bio:
    As the IT System Admin for the school, I have been working in the IT Department for 15 years. Over the past 3 years, I have been responsible for running the 3D printers at the school, ensuring they are properly maintained and operational. In addition to this, I also manage and maintain 6 personal printers at home.
  • Young Architect Club: 2nd-4th grades, 3:00-4:00 p.m on Fridays

    This enrichment class will focus on interior design and architecture. It’s the perfect solution to elevate a child's artistic talent and give them a head start in the world of design. Each student will create a 3D house model and work on various other small projects that each focus on designing and creating furniture and accessories that go with the house. We will work on drafting, designing, painting, sewing, and sculpting to embellish our 3D homes. It’s the perfect enrichment for any student who enjoys hands on projects and has an interest in building, designing, and crafting. 

    Instructor's Bio:
    Tiffany Busby is a dedicated educator with 27 years of experience, specializing in teaching STEAM. She currently teaches 2nd grade at St. Andrew’s. Her passion lies in integrating science and art into her classes, creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment. Tiffany's innovative approach aims to inspire her students to explore the vast possibilities within STEAM. She believes in nurturing curiosity and encouraging creative problem-solving among her learners. Through her teaching, Tiffany hopes to open new avenues for students to discover and appreciate the wonders of STEAM.
  • Babysitters Club: 3rd-4th grades, 2:45-3:30 p.m on Mondays

    In this class we will train for pre babysitting. We will learn CPR and first aid. We will develop a business plan and learn babysitting skills, such as diaper changing, monitoring screen time and games to play with children.

    Join the engineering fun at St. Andrew’s! Our Bricks 4 Kidz Lego model plans, designed by engineers and architects, teach children to learn with LEGO® Bricks. We will build vehicles, contraptions, inventions, animals and much more. Our projects motivate children by reinforcing S.T.E.M. principles while building self-confidence, improving fine motor skills, and teaching math skills. We Learn, We Build, We Play with LEGO bricks!

    NEW PROJECTS EACH SEMESTER! We love having students join us for multiple semesters of fun! Join Bricks 4 Kidz for a LEGO® Engineering experience! Our LEGO models are fully motorized. All new projects EVERY semester! We will begin building vehicles, contraptions, inventions, animals and much more using tech LEGO bricks with motors and battery packs. Then, your child will program their creations using LEGO Education’s Wedo 2.0 software. Projects connect via Bluetooth for a wireless ride by the end of the semester. Come join the educational fun....We Learn, We Build, We Play with LEGO bricks! Our projects, designed by engineers and architects, motivate children by reinforcing S.T.E.M. principles while enhancing self-esteem, improving fine motor skills, and teaching important math skills.

    Does your child have a passion for candy, enjoys watching food reviews, or loves trying new things? If so, this class is an exciting opportunity for them! In this after-school program, students will engage in fun worksheets to explore a variety of candies and learn how to craft their own advertisements and reviews. Each week, they will embark on a tasting adventure, sampling a delightful mix of classic favorites and unique treats they may have never tried before. It's a chance to discover the joy of new flavors while sharing their insights. For safety, each student will only sample a small amount—never more than a serving size. If your child has food allergies, this class may not be the best fit; however, if the allergy is limited and they are eager to join, please reach out via email to discuss how we can make accommodations so they can participate in this sweet experience!

    Hi! My name is Sara Clark, and I am the Lower School Librarian for both ECC and LS. I also Coach Archery at the Middle and High School. This will be my fourth year at St.Andrew's and in Mississippi. I love reading books, crafting, spending time with family, journaling, traveling, and trying new foods! In this class, I want to share my love for trying new candies with your child in a safe and fun way!

    In this class we will learn to about food and create with friends. We will cut, shred, bake and learn to love different foods from many cultures. My hope is to create a space where they will try new foods and learn to love cooking.

    In Fun with Food, we are teaching kids about the importance of healthy snacks while still making them fun. No-bake recipes are a great way to introduce your child to cooking. And if your children already enjoy cooking they are going to love trying these delicious recipes. These no-oven recipes are a great way to get kids started in the kitchen. Not only will it be an educational effort, it will be fun as well. One thing we know is that kids love fun foods! If you have a picky eater, sometimes the way to their stomach is by cute kid-approved foods. Or, perhaps you are trying to get additional veggies into your child, It may be sneaky but it is totally doable in a cute snack or treat! This is one instance when it’s totally acceptable to have Fun with Food. Grab your aprons and let’s get cooking!

    Instructor Bio:
    Liza Ambriz has experience teaching students of all ages, and has gotten great feedback from students, parents and teachers alike for her patience and love for kids. Mrs. Ambriz makes teaching fun and interesting by coming up with creative activities and games for students to engage in and learn. With the activities presented, kids enjoy participating and time flies by! Mrs. Ambriz finds it really important that kids learn in a way that is interesting and that helps them retain lessons learned and enjoy time in the classroom.
  • Mindful Moves Chess Club: Beginners: 1st-3rd grades, 3:15-4:00 p.m on Wednesdays

    The Mindful Moves Chess Club for Beginners is open to all 1st - 3rd grade students who are NEW to the game of chess.     Class Description:
    The Mindful Moves Chess Club for NOT Beginners is open to all 1st - 4th grade students who are already familiar with the game of chess. They should know the basics, like the names of the pieces, how they move, how to set the board, and basic gameplay.

    We will have a great time every week learning the basics of the game and its long and exciting history, practicing our playing skills and techniques, and engaging in some friendly competition. Come find your people and make some mindful moves.

    Join us for Chess Club, open to all students in grades 5-8, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player! This after-school program meets from 3:00-4:00 PM and is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of chess while also challenging more experienced players. Students will learn the rules of the game, piece movements, and essential strategies, along with tactical concepts that will improve their gameplay. Each session includes guided lessons, practice time, and opportunities for friendly matches with peers. This class provides a welcoming environment for students to build skills, enjoy the game, and meet fellow chess enthusiasts.

    Instructor's Bio:
    Mr. Hosler is a dedicated educator with 16 years of experience, known for fostering both academic and personal growth in his students. With a strong background in coaching, Mr. Hosler has led successful chess clubs at both St. Joe and St. Andrew's, inspiring young minds to develop strategic thinking and a love for the game. As a teacher, he brings enthusiasm, experience, and a commitment to creating an engaging learning environment for every student.

Using their technical and logical thinking, they can create unique, handmade custom pieces that express their personality and tastes. And the best part? It's a calming, soothing hobby that doesn't involve screens or noise, making it great for their wellbeing. So what are you waiting for? Let’s create!

  • Magic the Gathering - Commander: 5th-8th grades, 3:00-4:00 p.m on Mondays -- NORTH CAMPUS

    The participants will learn how to play the Magic: The Gathering card game in the Commander format. Each player will receive a pre-made deck to start with, and then they will have the opportunity to customize their decks using the thousands of cards available on campus.

    Instructor's Bio:

    Welcome to the Lil Saints Pokemon Club! Let’s explore, learn, and experience the world of Pokemon! This is an all-new adventure into Pokemon. Students will learn how to understand the basics of Pokemon all while having fun and learning how to be the very best! Trainers will explore names, gyms, characters, videos, cards, trivia, Pokemon types, and more all while having fun learning the basics of Pokemon to start their journey!     Mayson McKey, also known as Professor McKey, is a lifelong Pokémon enthusiast. Mayson rediscovered his passion for the series with the recent resurgence in Pokémon card collecting. Now in his third semester leading the Pokémon Club, Mayson has crafted a class tailored to young "trainers," creating a fun, engaging, and informative environment that brings the Pokémon world to life.

    Join this exciting and imaginative class where students will discover the world of scrapbooking and journaling! As a cherished hobby of mine, I've seen firsthand how beneficial it can be for children. This crafting experience not only nurtures creativity but also supports emotional development. Students will engage in creating mood boards to gather inspiration from their peers, setting the stage for their unique journals. They'll be able to write, illustrate, and enhance their journals with photos and fun embellishments like washi tape and stickers! This creative form of self-expression empowers students to explore their thoughts and feelings in a safe environment. With a diverse array of materials at their fingertips and the opportunity to collaborate with classmates, students will deepen their understanding of themselves and build a meaningful sense of community.     Join Sew Fun Studios at St. Andrew's on Tuesdays this Fall to learn sewing basics while you create and take home a variety of projects. While this class will focus primarily on machine sewing skills, students will incorporate hand sewing embroidery stitches for decorative purposes! Choose from our line of trendy fabrics to make creations that are just your style! Perfect for your little fashionista or DIY child. Sewing enforces Science Technology Engineering Art and Math (STEAM) principles, so children are learning while having SEW much fun! Projects are different EVERY semester. Children can take classes every semester and learn new skills while making new and different projects....no duplicate projects! All ability levels are welcome.     Welcome to the Lil Saints Video Game Club, where fun meets learning through a blend of retro classics and exciting adventures in Roblox. Join a community of young gamers exploring the fascinating worlds of retro video games and Roblox. Our club is designed to spark creativity, foster teamwork, creates mood elevation, enhance cognitive engagement and develop problem-solving skills through gaming. We'll dive into the pixelated past with iconic games like Mario, Sonic, Pac-Man and other classics using emulators. Join and discover the origins of gaming and learn why these classics still hold up today! Students will embark on virtual quests, build incredible worlds, and unleash your imagination. From designing your own games to solving puzzles with friends, the possibilities are endless! Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting your gaming journey, the Video Game Club is the place to be!
